Creating a Clayton County for Everyone
Clayton County is a gateway to Atlanta, the Empire City of the South. However, despite the rapid growth Atlanta has seen over the past 10 years, Clayton County has not seen the same level of growth and economic opportunity make its way south. Over the next four years, Clayton County has an opportunity to go down one of two paths: continue as it has been in the past, or grow into something better than we could imagine. Under Dr. Alieka Anderson-Henry’s leadership, Clayton County will prosper and become somewhere all folks can take pride in while truly becoming a location to live, work, and play.
My Priorities for Clayton County
-
Economic Development
Clayton County serves as the gateway of Atlanta from the South, but yet we haven’t seen the same level of development that is occurring elsewhere in the state. Dr. Anderson-Henry is meeting the needs of the District and is bringing better businesses, restaurants, and jobs to Clayton County.
-
Developing our Workforce
Our community needs to continue investing in our workforce to ensure businesses have a prepared and educated workforce to employ. As a former school board member, I have a plan to work with the school system and local businesses to ensure we are training our youth and young adults to meet the needs of businesses in this day and age.
-
Keep Clayton County Clean!
No one wants to live in a community that is dirty. As your District 1 Commissioner, Dr. Anderson has created and sponsored Trash Amnesty Days, where residents can easily dispose of household junk. She has changed the way Clayton County handles trash pick up and ensures no one in Clayton County is forced to see junk and garbage in their community.

Providing Resources to our Seniors
Our seniors are the most valuable assets we have in our community, and after this past year, they deserve more resources. Initiatives such as Meals on Wheels, Senior Recreational Activities, and more should be provided by our county to ensure we are taking care of our elders! Stay tuned for more events for our seniors!
